not filing from here yet
We would rather say so on the page than in the demo. Filing VAT returns over Making Tax Digital is on the roadmap and has no date we are willing to promise. Everything around the return — the records, the treatment, the deadlines — works today.

The ledger carries the VAT treatment on each transaction as it is coded, so the figures for a return are already there rather than reconstructed at quarter end. See ClearBooks.
Receipts captured with their VAT
Client receipts are read with the UK VAT treatment picked up from the image, and staff confirm rather than key it.
Deadlines on the board
VAT periods and payment dates for each registered client sit on the same compliance board as everything else.

Submitting the return
VAT returns cannot be filed from ClearCash today. Clients on MTD for VAT keep filing the way they do now.
No date promised
It sits behind the filing work already live for self assessment and corporation tax. We would rather ship it than announce it.
